Pronomic announces new range of Lift&Drive server and battery lifters dedicated to Europe’s thriving data centre market.

The new range of lifters enables companies to manoeuvre servers and other equipment quickly and safely, protecting staff from accident and injury.

Pronomic, the leading provider of safe and sustainable industrial lifting solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its unique Lift&Drive server and battery lifter product range which has been standardised to serve the needs of data centres all over Europe.

Over the course of the last three years, Pronomic has been recognized as a supplier of lifting trolleys to some of the world’s biggest players within the data centre sector. Whether a company’s servers are in hyperscale facilities, colocation data centres, cloud service providers or on-premises data centres, Lift&Drive lifters can take the strain and ensure a safe working environment for technicians.

Data centres provide several challenges for the people who use them. They are often cramped, with servers stacked high, and operators handling heavy, bulky, and expensive equipment every day. Despite this, many data centres do not routinely use lifting equipment, relying instead on manual processes carried out by technicians who are not trained in heavy lifting.

“Data centres are an essential consideration for businesses of all sizes, but too often they lack standard lifting procedures, with staff required to manually handle heavy servers every day,” says Pierre Ellow, Managing Director of Pronomic France.

As a result, accidents and injuries in data centres are relatively commonplace, and that can have disastrous effects on a company’s operations. Most data centres are staffed by skilled technicians who are difficult and expensive to replace when they go on long term sick leave because of preventable strain injuries sustained at work. Likewise, damage to server equipment can put business operations at risk and be expensive to repair.

“Equipping a data centre facility with a tailored server-lifter takes that responsibility away from the skilled technicians working in data centres and is an easy way to keep employees healthy and safe.” says Pierre Ellow, Managing Director of Pronomic France.

Lift&Drive has been designed to minimise the risk of damage to equipment and injury to staff through smarter management of manual lifting operations, making server handling a safe, efficient, and ergonomic one-person job.

The new Lift&Drive server and battery lifters are:

  • Lightweight - Lift&Drive lifters are typically lighter than their load capacity, making them adaptable to any data centre environment.
  • Agile - The lifters are easy to manoeuvre along narrow aisles, thanks to a compact footprint and tight turn radius.
  • Precise - Lift&Drive with stepless control offers precise positioning and unparalleled reach, with the lifting platform able to reach from the lowest rack slots at 1U to the very top positions at 52U or higher.
  • Customizable - The standard models can be specifically tailored to accommodate the needs of all modern data centres.

Headquartered in Sweden, but with representatives and partners all over Europe, Pronomic has years of knowledge and experience in industrial lifting solutions and can provide maintenance and support for customers wherever they are based.
